Success Story: Power to Youth Launches Human-Centered Design Program Inspired by Safe Engage Foundation's Positive Masculinity Initiative
The Safe Engage Foundation (SEF) has been taking lead in tackling sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) and harmful cultural practices in the Kuria community through its Positive Masculinity initiative, part of the Young Women for Awareness, Agency, Advocacy, and Accountability (YW4A) program. This initiative has empowered boys and young men to challenge harmful social norms and promote gender equality, fostering broader community transformation. Inspired by SEF’s success, Power to Youth, supported by Amref Health Africa, has launched a Human-Centered Design (HCD) pilot project in Migori County, incorporating SEF’s concepts to drive social change through intergenerational dialogues, film screenings, and school-based debates. This innovative collaboration aims to create a future free from violence and discrimination.
